“La corsa più bella del mondo” (così la definì il mitico Enzo Ferrari) passa da Sirmione ogni anno.
Ai nastri di partenza ci sono centinaia di vetture che danno vita a uno spettacolo simbolo dell’eccellenza italiana.
La Mille Miglia è infatti una gara per auto d’epoca che, a partire dal 1977, si svolge regolarmente lungo l’asse Brescia-Roma-Brescia. Il nome è dovuto alla lunghezza iniziale del percorso corrispondente a 1600 km (circa mille miglia, per l’appunto).
Per chi non avesse modo di partecipare all’evento, ricordiamo che a Brescia – negli ampi spazi dell’ ex-monastero di Sant’Eufemia – è sempre possibile visitare il curatissimo Museo Mille Miglia che riesce a ricostruire in maniera molto suggestiva, non solo questo evento sportivo/culturale, ma anche un pezzo di storia italiana.

The Mille Miglia is in fact a race for vintage cars which, since 1977, takes place regularly along the Brescia-Rome-Brescia axis. The name is due to the initial length of the route corresponding to 1600 km (about a thousand miles).
For those who can’t attend the event, we remind that in Brescia – in the large spaces of the former monastery of San’Eufemia – it is always possible to visit the well-kept Mille Miglia Museum which manages to reconstruct in a very suggestive way not only this sport and cultural event, but also a piece of Italian history.
